When Google announced Duplex last week at I/O as a part of its Assistant features for Google Home and Android devices, it was a complete show stopper. As someone who’s involved in technology and been interested in AI for a while, it was a breakthrough in human-computer interaction that could bridge a gap between users and businesses that might not yet be in the 21st century for bookings and reservations.
It’s been a week now, though, and now reality has hit. While the technology is a breakthrough, I can’t help but wonder the privacy implications of such a technology.
Rene Ritchie of iMore sums this up perfectly in a video that is absolutely a must-watch if you’re anyone that uses technology.
